Porbandar– A city in Saurashtra of Gujarat state, is a very prosperous town. The birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Who would not be aware of Mahatma Gandhi? He resides in every pocket. Porbandar is a good-looking seashore town with some temples and dams and is now also a prevalent exchange hub.

The coastal city with a noteworthy event in its antiquity is a sightseer terminus which self-effacingly offers several attractions. Apart from the haveli where Gandhiji was born which has now been renewed into a temple, there are a few more temples, dams, reservoirs, beaches and also wildlife spots as well to add to your knowledge in Porbandar. It fascinates pilgrims with temples such as the Sudama Mandir, Bharat Mandir, Ram Dhoon Mandir, Hanuman temple and many more.

The site of Gandhiji’s birth is now known as Kirti Mandir, has been transformed into a minor museum about him, with a display of old photographs, some of his very few belongings and a nice library of books either by him or linking to Gandhian philosophy and exercise. You can also view the room where he was born. It was his family home.

Two km from the middle of town is a fabulous temple called Bharat Mandir, with displays of sculptures, images and other examples of Indian custom. Next door is the Nehru Planetarium, with steady lineups about astronomy.

Miyani beach is one among the unripe beach positioned near Porbandar. The beach alone gives a grand experience with clean water and fine crumbly textured sand among few rocks on the exterior of the beach. The beach is at the ambulatory distance from Miyani village. One can also relish additional tourist magnetism near Miyani beach which encompasses Sudama temple, Harsidhhi temple, Kirti temple and also Brahma temple.
